It breaks our hearts to announce the passing of Afzal (Abbey) N. Ali. He was loved by all who met him, full of jokes and always a smile. His heart was kind and understanding, giving and loving. His spirit was generous and charismatic, patient and humble. He passed away peacefully on February 14th, 2026, the birthday of 2 of his 3 children.
Abbey served as a police officer for 15 years in the TTPS (Trinidad & Tobago Police Service). He then moved his family to New Jersey, USA in 1979 for more opportunities and a better life. He eventually left the cold, moving to Florida after retirement where he & his wife purchased their first home, and lived out the rest of his years.
Abbey is survived by his wife, Sugan; his three children, Neil (m. Vijaya), Ian (m. Naraya), and Nadia; his 4 grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon, Kiara, and Trevor; his great-granddaughter, Camdyn; his older Brother, Intaff; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
He will be deeply missed, admired, and loved by all who crossed his path.
