Phillip Schroeder Obituary

Phillip Harold Schroeder,75 years old,of Clermont, Fl passed peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at home with his wife at his side,of cancer. He was born Feb,26,1941 in Dunkirk, N.Y to Albert and Myrtle Palmer Schroeder. Phil lived in Forestville,N.Y until moving to Clermont,Fl in 1981 after his marriage to Kathleen (Kathy) Rodman Schroeder. He worked at Red Wing in Fredonia,N.Y as a truck dispatcher for 20 years and at Carolyn Candies in Clermont,Fl as a production maneger for 16 years. He took early retirement then worked as a custodian of the FUMC Pre- school for about 3 years. Phil was a charter member of the Clermont Moose Lodge. Since his school years Phil played drums in several bands over the past 60 years,favoring the old country music. He played at Clerbrook RV several years and Bee's RV almost 4 years and always enjoyed talking to people while on break.


Phil was a loving, gentle,easy going guy always helping others. He enjoyed making wood projects, feed ing the squirrels and birds in the feeders he made,bike riding on the trail,working in the yard wiyh his wife,watching Nascar racing,keeping in touch with others on his Facebook page and was an Avon "man" for 13 years with his wife.He liked to take a different route coming home than what he took getting there and was always willing and ready to do and go anywhere.


He is much loved and will be greatly missed by family, friends and 2 cats.


He is survived by his wife Kathy,5 children; Jeffery Schroeder of Fredonia, NY. Judy Schroeder of Sheridan NY,Jim Schroeder of South Dayton ,NY, Jeremy (Sandie) Schroeder of Forestville NY and Hank (Masha) Jensen of Reistertown, MD. Sisters Carol (Ed) Crecraft and Janice (Jim) Rundell both of Forestville NY, plus 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces,nephews and cousins. Phil was predeceased by his parents, infant brother Donald Schroeder and nephew Dale Crecraft.


There will be Celebration of Life Gatherings in Clermont and in Forestville in the near future.
